Meet Shawna Gathman, M.Ed.

I’m Shawna Gathman, a special education consultant who helps educators and families understand behavior through a nervous system lens. Over the years, I’ve worked with students who are bright, capable, and often misunderstood, especially during the hardest parts of the school day. I believe behavior makes sense when we understand what a child’s brain and body are managing. My work focuses on building safety first because when a child feels safe, skills grow. And when adults feel confident in how to respond, classrooms change. Through training, coaching, and parent education, I translate research into practical strategies you can use immediately.  I'm so glad you're here... Let's get started!
